The Biological Farmers of Australia, “the voice of Australian organics”, is Australia’s foremost organic body,a not-for-profit organisation that represents and develops the interests of more than 3,000 organic industry farmers, operators, producers, processors and traders. The BFA also serves the greater community, taking on the role of public educator about the benefits of organic food and farming.

The BFA is active in the development of meaningful organic standards, lobbying governments on behalf of the organic industry and supporting the growth of the organic domestic and international markets for Australian operators. It provides assistance in market intelligence, exporting requirements, and development of contacts and networks.  (The BFA is not a certification body; that role is undertaken by its subsidiary companies Australian Certified Organic Pty Ltd and OGA Certified Pty Ltd (T/A Organic Growers of Australia Small Producer Program).
